The people I served with in the military, and the thousands of others who serve in uniforms every day as first responders, put their heart and soul into everything they do. Canadians deeply respect this service and sacrifice regardless of political point of view, but I believe that this pride in those who serve is particularly strong with members of the Conservative Party of Canada.
“We are truly blessed with an abundance of food in Canada and all too often take for granted the bounty that surrounds us. Thousands of Canadians are involved directly on the farm and thousands more in the food processing, feed, implements, transportation and supply sectors across the country. Not only are our farming families feeding Canada, Conservative governments have helped these family farms feed the world and create a stronger economy.”
Canada has always been a country where if you studied, trained and worked hard you were on a path to prosperity in one of the most successful countries in the world. Unfortunately that isn’t the case for too many young people today. It’s time for a bold plan to give young Canadians a start in life. As Prime Minister, I’ll give them this start with Generation Kickstart.
Erin O’Toole challenges PM to go without pay until thousands of unpaid public servants get their paycheques
Under Justin Trudeau, the Government implemented the flawed Phoenix payroll system earlier this year despite being warned that it wasn’t ready. Since then, over 80,000 public servants have been paid the wrong amount or not at all. More than 15,000 cases remain backlogged and some employees have gone months without a paycheque. This is completely unacceptable.
In advance of tonight’s Conservative Party leadership debate, five former Conservative Members of Parliament today announced their endorsement of the Honourable Erin O’Toole to become the next Leader of the Conservative Party of Canada.
Today’s decision sadly makes it clear that Justin Trudeau won’t even try to keep his promises. He would rather give up on jobs and economic development than do the hard work necessary to build a new relationship with Indigenous groups he promised.
